I read about a pre install update to do prior to 8.1 upgrade but unfortunately, never saw it until after the fact. So no ISO install media? I've been looking all over the Internet for solutions and this is the easiest and effective one! Just make sure you restart your computer before trying to find the update in the Store.

It worked. Upgrading from Windows 8.1 Preview If you happened to have installed Windows 8.1 Preview, then you won't find Windows 8.1 in the Store. I get the same message as Taldren above. Reply rtf says: October 25, 2013 at 5:11 am works!
