As my enquiry to them was about IMAP accounts I cannot say what they will be doing with other email alert related issues if indeed there are any other than the This consists of basically anything that isn't some form of newsletter, social notification, or coupon/promo--basically, it's regular emails from real people. Outlook 2010 Desktop Alert Not Working

The tips from econtech (http://www.addictivetips.com/microsoft-office/outlook-2010-imap-notification-alert/) worked, it also gives me the envelope icon in the notification area. It does create duplicates but I bet I can also create a rule to delete them after a while. The need is for the "system tray" icon/envelope indicating new mail. To make the "New Mail Icon" only work for "Default (LARGE) Icons" instead of "Small Icons" is pathetic.

Is there a place to make suggestions to Microsoft on future Office improvements?
